Sandy Kinnamon was born in Pennsylvania on March 12, 1942. Sandy knew she wanted to be an artist at a very young age after receiving the gift of an art easel from her identical twin, which was the only gift she had ever received from her sister. This was years before she would discover her true talent. As a young stay-at-home mother with two girls, she began to experiment with art. Sandy started in oil paintings and dabbled in Acrylics; however, once she started doing watercolors she was hooked. Sandy is a signature member of the American Watercolors Society (AWS), one of her biggest accomplishments and a life-long dream of hers. Sandy has taught watercolor classes all over America and has been published in many books and magazines.
Sandy was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer on July 30, 2015. For many years, Sandy wanted to hang a show in Yellow Springs. She was told of this gallery through her Hospice Nurse. Sandy hung this show on Tuesday March 1, 2016. She selected the placement of each piece and was very excited to see her dream come to fruition. Sadly, on Friday morning, March 4, 2016, Sandy suddenly passed away. We only knew Sandy for a short time, but she touched our hearts and it is with great honor and pride that we were able to display her last show. Enjoy Sandy’s life and passion through her art in the virtual tour above by clicking on her image.
